Open science is a set of reforms that seek to improve the quality of research, both in practice and culture. They address the publish or perish and fund or famine culture, and generally make the scholarly enterprise more accessible and transparent to all. Though necessary and worthwhile, advocating and practice open science is not without its challenges.
