1: We must learn to be honest with one another about our struggles

“Therefore confess your sins to each other and pray for

each other so that you may be healed.”

James 5:16a

2: We can’t be honest for someone else

The progression of temptation (V 1-4)

“…each person is tempted when they are dragged away by their own

evil desire and enticed. 15 Then, after desire has conceived, it gives birth to sin; and sin, when it is full-grown, gives birth to death.”

James 1:14, 15

V 1: Laziness: He’s in bed while his men are at war

V 2: Lust: He focused on desire flesh

V 4: Longing: He moved toward temptation

V 4: Lure: He shunned warnings

V 6-15: Loser: Cover it up with deceit

V 15, 17: Laid Bare: Cover-up led to murder

12:9: He’s eventually exposed

“Be sure your sins will find you out.”
