Today I want to talk to you about doing all things with integrity

Definition: The quality of being honest and having strong moral principles; moral uprightness. The state of being whole and undividedDo you know someone that has questionable integrity? You can’t trust them or depend on themThey say they have something they are selling or hooking you up with and the first question is “is it clean”?When someone lacks integrity, we tune them out before they start talking, you don’t listen to them and when you do, you question everything they are sayingHebrews 12:14 - Pursue peace with all people, and holiness, without which no one will see the LordThere is a demand for Holiness and the lack of it will keep us from seeing GodWhen I speak of integrity, it easy to think of them big things, I don’t steal, cheat e.tcBut I believe that integrity is a heart conditionJeremiah 17:10 - I, the Lord, search the heart, I test the [a]mind, Even to give every man according to his ways, According to the fruit of his doingsProverbs 21:12 - Every way of a man is right in his own eyes, But the Lord weighs the hearts. We have to be careful that we are honorable in all things: Let’s not compromise our integrityA little bit of cheating on taxes, writing off things that we shouldn’tBuying a car and asking for price on paper to be lower so that you can pay less taxesReporting a little bit more hours on you time cardMaking side deals to benefit ourselvesLittle white lies, when you are late, seeking promotion, save relationship

What causes us to compromise our integrity?

Fear – Abram lies about his wifeGenesis 12:11 -17 11 And it came to pass, when he was close to entering Egypt, that he said to Sarai his wife, “Indeed I know that you are a woman of beautiful countenance. 12 Therefore it will happen, when the Egyptians see you, that they will say, ‘This is his wife’; and they will kill me, but they will let you live. 13 Please say you are my sister, that it may be well with me for your sake, and that [a]I may live because of you.”

So it was, when Abram came into Egypt, that the Egyptians saw the woman, that she was very beautiful. 15 The princes of Pharaoh also saw her and commended her to Pharaoh. And the woman was taken to Pharaoh’s house. 16 He treated Abram well for her sake. He had sheep, oxen, male donkeys, male and female servants, female donkeys, and camels.

But the Lord plagued Pharaoh and his house with great plagues because of Sarai, Abram’s wife.

Fear pushes us to do thing that are not honorable. God was the one that had called Abram to leave his home and go to where he was to be blessedFear also put other is jeopardyWhere is it in your life that you have allowed fear to affect your integrity or affect others?Greed - BalaamBalaam was a prophet, Balak king of Moab called him to go and curse the people of Israelites even thought God has instructed Balaam numerous times that he should...
