This topic was something that has been on my mind these past few months. Thanksgiving is a time where we spend the day expressing gratitude, and Christmas is a time everyone is focused on what they want for their presents. What damages can this materialistic culture bring to our mental well being?
UCLA came out with a recent study that suggests labeling your emotions at the precise moment you are confronting what you fear can indeed have the effect of reducing your fear! So basically being honest with how you feel, and openly expressing it helps you more than diminishing it. Also, you guys can learn how I inadvertently used a similar method to get over my childhood fear. Please don't judge me or I will cry about it forever.
Well, there is so much that goes into human emotions, and with Halloween around the corner, let's try to understand the psychology of fear. This theory can explain our fear, but it's used to explain all emotions in general. It's fun to break down why and how our minds work isn't it?
I was wondering a lot about the feelings of embarrassment. Mostly because my sisters are at a stage in their life where they avoid doing simple tasks because of the fear of embarrassment. What is the harm in talking to a sales worker about something you need? Eitherway, there are pros and cons to feeling embarrassed. Also why do we feel cringey after watching certain things, for me its watching some Tik Tok videos. I can't stop watching it, but at the same time I feel cringey when I do! WHY?? Well lets listen to my thoughts on the matter.
What explanations do we have on why we procrastinate? Is there hope to become better? If there is, what can we do. Maybe it's important to realize that procrastination isn't as harmless as we might think it is.
So my timeline was blowing up with the news that Ayesha Curry was feeling insecure. Why would she feel this way? Obviously I don't have her on my podcast to ask her. But what does psychological science say about the psychology of monogamous relationships, casual sex, female desires, and the purpose of the female orgasm?
After watching the new Shane Dawson conspiracy theory, it left me wondering....why do people believe in this stuff? Well lets find out!
