In the closing days of World War II, one of Patton’s final missions had to be one of the most unique and motely assorted mission operations in American military history. This operation would bring American Troops, German Wehrmacht soldiers, a multi-national Prisoner of War (POW) volunteers made up mainly of British and Polish troops just recently liberated, and Russian Prince leading his Cusack band, against the Waffen SS and Soviet Communist Red Army. This operation would be just one of two times that the American and German Wehrmacht soldiers would fight side by side. And they were fighting to save the prized Lipizzaner Stallions.
