In 1942 with France already fallen and Nazi Germany tightening their grip on the remaining free countries of Europe, the British drew up plans for a daring operation to spy on Hitler’s movement across the Mediterranean by burying six men alive, deep inside the rock of Gibraltar, with the possibility that they would never come out.
