Jesus had a purpose, he was mean't to die for us. When the appointed time was close, He informed his disciples and Peter due to His love for Jesus was against that purpose in a way, this caused him to be rebuked by Jesus. Jesus shut His ears to the opinion of men while he was on earth. It can also be seen in the way he related to the religious leaders on earth, these men were highly respected and were knowledgeable in alot of things, but Jesus chose to hold on to one thing, God's instructions, not men's opinion. Who do you listen to? Who told you that you should not follow the path God placed for you. Who told you that you should act in a particular way?
