Paul writes to Timothy in order that he and the church in Ephesus would know how they ought to behave in God's household. The first way they are to live this out is by upholding sound doctrine and opposing false teachers. What are we devoting ourselves to? Are we enamored by myths and speculations? Do we wander into vain discussions? Let us hold to the apostolic teaching, which has been entrusted to us.
