Pathways to Family Wellness

Optimizing Birth Through Proper Biomechanics and Support

Listen Later

In this podcast we have the privilege of speaking with Dr. Kristen Hosaka about this important phrase: Birth is rarely about failure, it's often about misalignment, imbalance, and the need for additional support.

Dr. Kristen Hosaka, DC, CACCP, is a perinatal and pediatric chiropractor, educator, and advocate for physiological birth. A graduate of Parker Chiropractic College (2002, Cum Laude), she has dedicated over two decades to supporting families through her private practice, Turning Point Wellness Center, in the suburbs of Fort Worth, Texas. Dr. Hosaka's clinical expertise is rooted in hands-on experience—she spent a decade working in birth centers and has attended over 250 births. Her passion for optimizing maternal and infant health led her to earn the Spinning Babies Aware Practitioner designation in 2017 and become a Dynamic Body Balancing Instructor in 2022. As an instructor for the International Chiropractic Pediatric Association (ICPA), Dr. Hosaka teaches "Adjusting for Birth: Maternal Biomechanics and the Effects of Fetal Positioning," a course that builds on her knowledge of prenatal biomechanics. She has presented at numerous midwifery and chiropractic conferences, including the Spinning Babies Confluence and the ICPA Gathering, where she shares insights on topics such as sacral biomechanics and fetal malposition. A mother of five and grandmother to one, Dr. Hosaka brings both professional and personal wisdom to her work. She is committed to helping pregnant individuals achieve balanced, empowered births and to reducing birth trauma through gentle, empowered care.
