In this episode, I chat with Physical Therapists Meg and Paul Timler about how performance-focused physical therapy can help keep athletes on the mats. We dive into the importance of using a holistic approach to help athletes not only heal injuries, but also decrease the likelihood of injuries from happening.
Based in Gainesville, Florida, Meg and Paul Timler are both Brazilian Jiu Jitsu belt belts, Physical Therapists, and owners of Forge Performance Physical Therapy. Their mission is to help active people stay healthy and active throughout their lifespan with emphasis on function, performance, and longevity. After a combined 39+ years of therapy experience in the traditional healthcare systems, Meg and Paul recognised a need for more specialized care amongst active populations, particularly the jiu jitsu community. Their own experiences in jiu jitsu give them a unique understanding of the demands of the combat athlete. They created Forge Performance PT to better serve the everyday athlete and keep people on the mats through every decade of life.
