A proper examination of the oral cavity is crucial. It should start by a thorough visual inspection oof all the intra-oral soft tissue including cheeks, palate, throat, floor of the mouth and the tuberosity and retromolar areas.  the oral examination should include a periodontal charting that is thoroughly done, including probing of the pockets, recording recessions, amount of keratinized tissue and inspection for cavities. Radiographs are crucial in completing the inspection especially if we are looking for cavities, bone loss or any bone anomalies. You as a patient, you should expect this from your dentist and have the dentist examine you after the hygienist finished her work.  I hope you will enjoy this episode and that you will watch it on my channel on  you tube.
