Orange County Hardcore Scenester: Aftermath

Orange County Hardcore Scenester: Aftermath #195 - SceneStop #12 - Zed Records

Listen Later

Zed  Records was a punk/hardcore music hub from the 1970s all the way into  the early 2000s. If you wanted alternative music this (along with Vinyl  Solution) was the place I mainly went to get my fix. If you did a band  you wanted your demos and records on the walls. The place had an  incredible cast of characters behind the counter, none who loomed larger  than Big Frank Harrison, who many (myself included) thought he owned  the place.

Enjoy  this walk down memory lane and please share your memories of Zed  Records in the comments below, because, short of a Ken Burns-styled  documentary, there's no one account of this great record store that  could do it justice.

These  videos are part of an ongoing video series chronicling the hardcore  punk music scene. They are an addendum to the film Orange County  Hardcore Scenester. This is a documentary I made that chronicles the  1990s hardcore punk scene. You can watch ORANGE COUNTY HARDCORE  SCENESTER here:
