If you went to shows in Orange County in the 1990s, you went to Koo's Cafe. This intimate coffee shop/scene spot was Orange County's answer to the Viper Room. With such groups as Farside and Gameface being mainstays, Koo's was never beholden to any particular band, sound, even scene. All were welcome in this inspirational hub that came into existence because Dennis Lluy and a few others wanted to give people a place to be creative and express themselves.

These videos are part of an ongoing video series chronicling the hardcore punk music scene. They are an addendum to the film Orange County Hardcore Scenester. This is a documentary I made that chronicles the 1990s hardcore punk scene. You can watch ORANGE COUNTY HARDCORE SCENESTER here:
