When Taryn got the role of Tiffany “Pennsatucky,” in Netflix's Orange Is the New Black she wondered if it was art imitating life - as she had actually just gone to jail for fighting. With her tiny frame and childlike face, the actress often played scrawny hellions. She’s been a prostitute, druggie, and addled brained prisoner in movies like Hustle and Flow and done it well, but now it’s time to create different characters. Vivica encourages her to just keep at it. Taryn says that even though she had a tough childhood, growing up poor and her father committing suicide when she was fourteen she is not a down and out person.
