Amos 1:1-2 7:10-17.

The Apostle Paul tells us that God deliberately choses foolish things to confound the wise of this world. Amos was such a man. As a sheep herder and fig farmer, Amos was an ordinary man. Yet, ordinary as he may be, he was a man who had a call on his life. Amos was no professional, but instead of using his lack of formal training as an excuse to disobey God, Amos trusted and obeyed. The result was an ordinary man called by God to proclaim an extraordinary message to God's people. We can learn a lot from Amos and will learn a lot about our God as we trek through this book.
