I started Selling Cars in 1999 to get out of the dangerous Foundry work I was doing. I worked at several dealerships until April of 2005 when I got my real estate broker's license. I discovered the experience I had gained in marketing myself as a Realtor and owning a property servicing company gave me a huge edge. Today I'm one of if not the most successful Automotive Salesperson in Oregon. About 70% of my business is self generated from social medial and networking. This is unheard of in the car business as most salespeople rely mostly on the advertising of the dealership. A Salesperson with 20% of their sales being self generated is considered outstanding. To have 70% while selling 15 to 30 cars per month consistently was really unheard of locally until I started doing it.
