I had the privilege of speaking today at Munford Middle School to a great group of young people concerning the need for organ donation. These young people are being touched like never before by one of their own who is fighting for her life awaiting a heart/ lung transplant. Today almost 123,000 people await new organs in the US along. Of that number 22 will die each day waiting simply because the supply does not meet the demand. Death is a tragic thing but the gift of life that is made possible through organ donation is a wonderful blessing. I should know I received a new heart 29 month ago (5/23/13). During this same program a group of young people expressed this need through a drama they put together and did a wonderful job. Also a touching tribute was paid to the little girl who awaits the transplants at MMS. Make a decision to donate, register and tell your family of your decision
