I recently did a little test on Facebook to see if I could flip the tables on people doing organic Facebook outreach. There is a huge trend on Facebook of people reaching out through a friend request, and immediately trying to sell you a product once you have accepted their request. For this test, I accepted every friend request that I had received in the last 5 days.
