ORIENTING PRACTICE

Orienting is a nervous system regulation tool / practice. It is very good for bringing you into present time awareness. 

 

Use Orienting: 

  1. To come into present time awareness if you are caught in the past or the future.
  2. If you are being triggered by something in the present and it's bringing up the past or the future and you want to bring the inherent health of your system alive to work with what is coming up.
  3. To help you work intentionally with something from the past like a memory that, when you try to work with it or open up to the energy of it, you feel overwhelmed or rushes of adrenaline, like your body is shutting down or you find yourself dissociating.
