In the world today there are millions and millions of young children and teenagers who are orphans because of wars, because of divorce, because of all sorts of diseases. Young people are left alone in the world. I was impressed the other day when my hairdresser said, “My sister, my older sister in North Korea saved me, took me to South Korea brought me to the US where I was adopted, and look, I'm a believer now."

Being an orphan is a very sad thing. You miss your father, you miss your mother, and if you’ve lost them both the sense of despair is tremendous. I was an orphan. My dad died and I knew I didn't have a father. But you know, God became my father. And the Lord Jesus Christ said these words: “I will come to you. I will not leave you as helpless orphans.”

And you know, if you have lost your father or mother or both, and perhaps you’ve been adopted by a good family, remember you're not a helpless orphan because Jesus comes to you. And if you open your heart to Him He’s your Savior and he’ll never leave you or forsake you. You're not a helpless orphan.
