Life between the already of God’s blessings and the not yet of a broken world brings tests of loss, integrity, faith, and endurance. David's life reminds us that while trials are inevitable, God uses them to grow us, strengthen our character, and lead us to trust Him fully.

Giants in life are intimidating and inevitable, but they must be faced through faith only, and not human weapons like "I'll try harder" or strife. Just as David defeated Goliath in the name of the Lord, we too can overcome every giant because real victory is found in God’s power and faithfulness, not in our own strength. It is God who gives us victory!

We're starting a new series today called Old Testament Faith and we'll be looking at the lives of 4 Old Testament characters over the next few months. Today we start with King David! Like David, we are called to obedience over sacrifice, valuing God’s presence above position, and faithfully reflecting His heart in every season of life.

In this message, our worship pastor Jason Wilson invites us to RE:SET—a fresh start rooted in repentance, renewal, and restored relationship with God—by deliberately returning to His presence and purpose after seasons of drifting. When we remember who God is and how deeply we matter to Him, we find the grace to turn from distractions, disappointment, and self-focus, and draw near to the One who still knocks and calls us back.

Because of Jesus’ perfect sacrifice and priesthood, we can confidently draw near to God, stand firm in our faith, and live with purpose. When we live in God’s grace, we draw closer to Him, extend grace and truth to others, and carry a sense of urgency and hope for the world around us.

This sermon from Stephen Griffith, our discipleship director, reminds us that the grace that saves us is also meant to shape us into people who love deeply and genuinely. Real love shows up, speaks kindness, hates what is wrong, clings to what is good, and honors others with heartfelt affection.

When life feels overwhelming, Psalm 34 shows us how to respond to the Lord —with praise because He's worthy, trust in His plan, and a holy fear of Him. This message will encourage you to seek God in desperation, speak truth, pursue peace, and trust that He is always near, especially to the brokenhearted.
