In Ash Walker's continued absence, the rehearsal this week is conducted by Maestro Kedrick Armstrong, with some help from his associate Zach Salzburg-Frank.
Part 1
Start - Maestro began with a sincere "thank you" for the Verdi concert the previous Friday. He went on to describe the music for the Break Bread concert, including recommending we look at 2 pieces not available that night (details aren't now in Chorus Connection). He also recommended we all watch something called "The Preacher's Wife" (find it with Google), as this seems to be where this version of Joy to the World was first performed. He introduced his associate Zach Salzburg-Frank, who will be assisting him through the Break Bread.
5:52 Zach runs a warmup session.
14:53 With some background on the song from Maestro, begin rehearsing the revised version of Let Us Break Bread Together.

Part 2
Start - Manager Seth Ducey thanked the pianist for his work and reminded the chorus of some issues.
1:35 - Maestro started work on Joy to the World, starting with a discussion of his background as a musician doing live performances. He then played a recording of the piece (7:05 - 11:41 on the recording), after which he started the chorus rehearsing it on p. 2 of the score.
35:46 - Maestro started discussing how we'll work on this music at our next rehearsal; in the course of it, he reported on his talk with Ash Walker, who has chosen to move away from the chorus to go for an advanced degree; Maestro said he told Ash that Ash had saved this chorus. Ash plans to come back for some summer sings. Maestro then discussed the pieces we'll do in the spring.
