Oscar Pistorius

Listen Later

Episode #11

Oscar Pistorius is a South African athlete, who tragically, at the age of 11 months, lost both of his legs below the knees to a genetic malformation. Although this disability could make it difficult to even walk, Oscar became a famous athlete, specifically, a runner. Oscar would make headlines as he became a paralympic champion, and challenge his right to be able to compete with non-disabled athletes. But in February 2013, Oscar would be making headlines for another reason, when he is accused of the murder of his girlfriend, Reeva Steenkamp.

If you or anyone you know is a victim of domestic abuse, help is available. Call 1-800-799-7233 for more information.
