The Oscars are this weekend and there are some predictable favourites who are almost guaranteed to win, like Joaquin Pheonix and Renee Zellweger. But there’s likely going to be a showdown for Best Picture between Sam Mendes’ epic war film 1917 and Bong Joon-Ho’s Korean language social satire Parasite. Today, Global’s entertainment reporter Chris Jancelewicz joins host Tamara Khandaker to make the case for why Parasite should win and to discuss the age-old question: Why are the Oscars still so white in 2020?
