Someone asked me this week — are narcissists boring?

I laughed. Then I stopped laughing.

No. They are not boring.

They are exhausting.

And there is a difference that will cost you everything.

Boring people waste your time. You check your watch. You leave. You sleep fine.

Exhausting people waste your life. You don’t check your watch because you’ve lost track of time entirely — who you were, what you wanted, what was real.

The narcissist in your life is not boring you.

They are reorganizing you.

Slowly. Quietly. With a smile.

The day you confuse exhaustion for love is the day the rent comes due.
