With us now nearing the end of 2021, we're finally approaching the New Year's Six. And you know what that means, folks. The biggest, most highly touted bowl games of the year are on the horizon!
After a lengthy, but necessary debate about the culinary definition of what constitutes a pizza, namely when it comes to Chicago Style Pizza, George and David begin previewing the New Year's Six, by highlighting the upcoming Alamo Bowl. The Oregon Ducks are set to square off against Oklahoma Sooners, with both dealing with their fair share of absences due to early declarations from some of their starts to the NFL.
And in the Peach Bowl, expect Michigan State's passing attack to face it's ultimate test on how they execute without their bell cow in the backfield in Kenneth Walker III, while Biletnikoff Award winner Jordan Addison will face a test, himself, on how he can work in tandem with Pickett's backup on Pittsburgh.
In the Fiesta Bowl, it will be a matchup of two of the most suffocating defenses in the entire country between Notre Dame and Oklahoma State.
As for the illustrious and iconic Rose Bowl, the Ohio State Buckeyes will be dealing with the red hot Utah Utes' defense that has been styming competition left and right lately.
But have no fear as both lineups are in gear for the Sugar Bowl between the Ole Miss Rebels offense and the well-rounded Baylor Bears as a whole.
But what we're all waiting for most of all has to be the College Football Playoff, with Cincinnati, who's been undefeated in back to back regular seasons as they square off against the Goliath in Alabama.
The same goes for Michigan Wolverines in getting the monkey off their back that is having not reached the national title game in almost 24 years, but the stifling Georgia Bulldogs defense stands in their way. To hear more about what we should expect in the New Year's Six and Alamo Bowl, tune into this week's college football episode of the OTH Football Podcast, presented by Overtime Heroics and sponsored by SimBull.
