On January 30, 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) declared the COVID-19 outbreak a global health emergency. Stemming from Wuhan, China, Asians became the scapegoat of the pandemic and the world began to witness the resurgence of “yellow peril,” or the fear of Asians. This xenophobia has continued into 2021 and led to many incidents of hate crimes against Asians.
In this podcast, the Vu sisters recount racist and/or prejudiced encounters they had in their past and describe their Asian-American experience.
