In or out. Up or down. Sweet or salty. Hot or cold. When it comes to life we often like the clarity of an absolute especially when it comes to the temperature of something. Most of us have a healthy disregard for things that are lukewarm. Not shockingly, God definitely has a distaste for lukewarm things especially when it comes to His church.
