Matthew 6:9-13
Daily bread is more than you think.
Bread for the Body: Practical Provision
Matthew 6: 25-26
James 1:16-17
Whenever you make a resource into a source, you will find idolatry.
Idolatry blocks the flow of God's blessing. So in His mercy, God may strip away what we’ve clung to, so we’ll cling to Him instead.
Bread for the Heart: Emotional Provision
Philippians 4:11-13
Psalm 147:3
John 14:27
Psalm 42:11
1 Peter 5:6-7
Job 19:25
John 4:13-14
Bread for the Soul: Spiritual Provision
Matthew 4:2-4
Deuteronomy 8.3
The “daily bread” in the Lord’s Prayer and Jesus’ statement in Matthew 4:4 are deeply connected. Both point to a life of daily dependence on God, recognizing that His Word is the true bread that feeds our souls. This is an invitation to trust God for today, to seek Him first, and to find our deepest satisfaction in Him-not just in physical provision, but in the life-giving power of His Word and presence.
Daily Bread Requires Daily Dependence
Exodus 16:19-20
God demands full engagement from you and from me because that is the only way that we can fully experience all of the blessing and provision that he has for us.
The best way for you to experience God’s love is day by day. Yesterday’s love isn’t enough for today!
John 6: 48-58
Then the Jews began to argue sharply among themselves, “How can this man give us his flesh to eat?”
Jesus said to them, “Very truly I tell you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you have no life in you. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has eternal life, and I will raise them up at the last day. For my flesh is real food and my blood is real drink. Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood remains in me, and I in them. Just as the living Father sent me and I live because of the Father, so the one who feeds on me will live because of me. This is the bread that came down from heaven. Your ancestors ate manna and died, but whoever feeds on this bread will live forever.”
