"Our Debt was Paid"
Psalm 103:12-13
New International Version
12 as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us. 13 As a father has
compassion on his children, so the Lord has compassion on those who fear him.
Do you ever struggle with believing that God has truly forgiven you? Perhaps you struggle to believe that
God does not hold past sins over your head. Thankfully, God addresses this in Psalm 103. When God forgives us, it is as if those sins are as far away from us as the east is from the west. It is not that God is suddenly forgetful, but He does not hold those sins against us. He died for us, His wrath was satisfied, and our debt was paid—permanently. God will not hold those sins out in front of us and demand payment.
