Our expert consultant is the Holy Spirit. John 14:16-18: And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever. The Spirit of Truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it nether sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.
Consultant: a professional who provides expert advice. We have the greatest consultant! He lives in us and goes with us everywhere.
We can all use some “God ideas” and perspectives. Many times, we are too close to a situation and cannot see any other options. God ways and thoughts are higher than our ways. We need God’s ideas for our finances, marriage, relationships, parenting and job success. We need to consult God on every decision. When we are led by His Spirit, it will change you way you think, act and respond. WE NEED TO LIVE GOD-CONSCIOUS EVERY DAY!
King David was a man after God’s own heart. He was always asking the Expert (the Holy Spirit) about the best strategy when going out to battle against the enemies of the Lord. I Samuel 30:8 – Shall I pursue this troop? Shall I overtake them? He answered him, “Pursue for you shall surely overtake them and without fail recover all”. 2 Samuel 5:22-25: The Philistines went up once again and deployed themselves in the valley of Rephaim. David inquired of the Lord, and He said you shall not go up, circle around behind them, and come upon them in front of the mulberry trees. And it shall be when you hear the sound of marching in the tops of the mulberry trees, them you shall advance quickly. For then the Lord will go out before you and strike the camp of the Philistines.
Qualities: Wisdom, comforter, understanding, counsel, fortitude, knowledge, reverence, and fear of the Lord.
7 Attributes:
He convicts us of sin (John 16:8, I John 1:9) And when He has come, He will convict the world of sin, and of righteousness, and of judgment. If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness.
He permanently indwells us (John 14:16-18) And I will pray the Father, and He will give you another Helper, that He may abide with you forever. The Spirit of Truth, whom the world cannot receive, because it nether sees Him nor knows Him; but you know Him, for He dwells with you and will be in you. I will not leave you orphans; I will come to you.
He seals us (Eph. 1:13-14) And because of what Christ did, all you others too, who heard the Good News about how to be saved, and trusted Christ, were marked (sealed) as belonging to Christ by the Holy Spirit, who long ago had been promised to all of us Christians. 14-His presence within us is God’s guarantee that He really will give us all that He promised; and
the Spirit’s seal upon us means that God has already purchased us and that he guarantees to
bring us to himself. This is just one more reason for us to praise our glorious God.
He teaches us (John 14:26) But the Helper, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in My name, He will teach you all things.
He guides us into all truth (John 16:13) However, when the Spirit of truth, has come, He will guide you into all truth; for He will not speak on His own authority, but whatever He hears He will speak; and He will tell you things to come.
He reminds us (John 14:26) He will bring to your remembrance all things He has said to you.
He bears fruit through us (Gal. 5:22-23) Love, Joy, Peace, Longsuffering, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, self-control.
