On this Father's Day we see that there is unfair human favoritism in family. But God's favoritism is not unjust. He does not have to save anyone- the just punishment for our sin is death/eternal separation from God- but God in his grace has chosen to save some- not because of any action these chosen did or could do- simply because God loves them.
