Thanksgiving is the heritage of all people who belong to the LORD. When something can be called a heritage it means that it makes up the central core of our lives. Therefore, giving thanks to God will be of utmost importance in all we do. Thanksgiving is the center, the core, of our being. And God himself wants us to know what that means. God wants his people to be encouraged in this discouraging world.
God has given us the remedy for the problem of discouragement. He has given us his Word. Psalm 100 is holy medicine which is Gods prescription to undo the tangled mess of discouragement. Enter his gates with thanksgiving and his courts with praise (Psalm 100:4). When we follow the LORDS prescription we will find that discouragement is casted off and we will immediately be clothed in grace. Thanksgiving will then come alive in our hearts.
