We may say we have a democracy, but the truth is that our elected officials aren't concerned about their constituencies but with the corporations that bring them to power. Regarding voting, approximately 50% of eligible voters actually do, and 50% don't care. We have a Corporatocracy that runs our government, not a Democracy. Lobbyists make sure the U.S. Congress and even the President allocate the largest Defence Budget in the World for our Military Industrial Corporations, without which their political careers aren't assured.
