The reason Christ-followers are not already in heaven is so that we can tell others the good news that Jesus saves, so we can disciple them, so they can disciple others. The Great Commission—to go and make disciples—is not a suggestion; it is a command from our King. If you think you can't do it, remember Jesus has been given all authority in heaven and earth. Go; He has already won! We are not alone; Jesus said, "I am with you always, to the end of the age."
