To leave a legacy of faith and faithfulness, we will leave something of the world in the world. To be sure, worldly things can tempt us, as Jesus was tempted. But they can also be used for God’s glory and the spreading of the Gospel. Giving our time seems like a sacrifice, and perhaps from one perspective it is. But our gift of time with grandchildren or with sinners impacts the world even after we’re gone. The same for our monetary gifts. And we don’t need more time or money in heaven, so we may as well use it all here.
