June is African-American Music Appreciation month and Lou and Teresa are here for it! The hosts discuss how music is essential to African-American culture and also which songs have shaped their life experiences. Teresa shares how,  after learning her days would have a bit less sunshine, Janet Jackson set things in order and helped her gain control. Lou shares how she wishes she'd had a bit more control when she recounts a long ago dance contest. If  you could use a bit of levity and are in the mood for a good story and a bit of soul stirring, please by all means: Listen in!

****Songs included in today's episode are: Better Days (Diane Reeves), Sunshine (Alexander O'Neal), Control (Janet Jackson), I Got That (Anthony Brown and Group Therapy), How Can You Mend a Broken Heart (Al Green), Brickhouse (Commodores), Delivered (Carlton Pearson), Say It Loud, I'm Black and i'm Proud (James Brown),  A Change is Gonna Come (Sam Cook) and We Shall Overcome (Performed by the Morehouse College Choir).***
