We are all familiar with the grace that God has freely poured out upon us. We are both saved by grace and forgiven by grace. Grace is unmerited divine favor, a gift from God that we did not earn and did not deserve. What we may not be as familiar with, however, is that once we receive God's grace and become His children, we have an obligation to Him, and He states that very clearly in His Word.
For example, we have a moral obligation to God to love Him and be thankful for, and pray for, our spiritual family. We also have a moral obligation to grow in the Christian faith. There are other obligations we have to God as well. Fulfilling our obligation to God is not a pre-requisite for, nor does it earn, grace, but it is part of our obedience to God. In this teaching, John Schoenheit covers some of the moral obligations that are clearly stated in the Bible and discusses not only what they are, but how to fulfill them in our lives.
