Before God rebuilds a city, He rebuilds the hearts of the people who love it. In the opening of Nehemiah, we see a leader whose heart is broken for what breaks God’s heart. This message invites us to see people the way God does, to allow compassion to move us from comfort to concern, and to recognize that renewal always begins with a burden that is surrendered to God in prayer.
