Everything the Lord does has purpose.
● 1 John 3:8 He who sins is of the devil, for the devil
has sinned from the beginning. For this purpose the
Son of God was manifested, that He might destroy
the works of the devil.
● Everything we do should have purpose...we should be
accomplishing something.
● We should step into church on purpose.
● John 10:10 The thief does not come except to
steal, and to kill, and to destroy. I have come that
they may have life, and that they may have it more
abundantly.
● Jesus’ teaching had purpose
● Jesus’ preaching had purpose
● Jesus’ healing had purpose
Jesus taught to “produce” something...or “accomplish”
something
● If Jesus taught to accomplish something and we
don’t know what that was, how can we duplicate
his ministry here on the earth??
● If you don’t understand the purpose behind the
action, how can you expect to place any value
upon the action.
● What is the purpose behind Jesus teaching,
preaching, & healing?
The reason Jesus would teach and preach was to
produce beliefs.
● Mark 16:15 And He said to them, “Go into all the
world and preach the gospel to every creature. 16
He who believes and is baptized will be saved; but
he who does not believe will be condemned.
● Rom 10:13 For “whoever calls on the name of the
LORD shall be saved.”14 How then shall they call on
Him in whom they have not believed? And how
shall they believe in Him of whom they have not
heard? And how shall they hear without a
preacher?
● Preaching leads to believing, which leads to calling,
which leads to salvation.
● What you believe is a result of what you have
heard.
● Acts 4:1 Now as they spoke to the people, the
priests, the captain of the temple, and the
Sadducees came upon them, 2 being greatly
disturbed that they taught the people and
preached in Jesus the resurrection from the dead.
3 And they laid hands on them, and put them in
custody until the next day, for it was already
evening. 4 However, many of those who heard the
word believed; and the number of the men came
to be about five thousand.
● Acts 15:5 But some of the sect of the Pharisees
who believed rose up, saying, “It is necessary to
circumcise them, and to command them to keep
the law of Moses.” 6 Now the apostles and elders
came together to consider this matter. 7 And
when there had been much dispute, Peter rose up
and said to them: “Men and brethren, you know
that a good while ago God chose among us, that
by my mouth the Gentiles should hear the word of
the gospel and believe.
● 1 Cor 3:6 Paul planted, Apollos watered...God gets
the increase.
● Acts 14:19-22 Pauls travels - struggles - and return
to strengthen the believer’s.
