His&Hers is a podcast about marriage and exploring the power of perspective. On His&Hers, I invite phenomenal guests to talk about marriage, overcoming challenges and sometimes to share expert advice so that we can all learn from them. We talk about how to connect with ourselves which helps us to better connect with our spouses. My hope is for us to explore the BEAUTY of relationships and for us to remind ourselves and to remind each other about how we can compliment each other simply by shifting our perspectives. ❤❤❤❤❤ 🎉🎊🎉🎊 We are in Season 3!! Thank you for listening. 💙💙💙💙💙 In this episode, my guest, Estela Rodriguez Jebril, and I talk about her marriage story and journey; and the marriage lessons extracted from that journey. We talk about all the pieces of ourselves that we bring into marriage, such as culture, past experiences and identities, marriage expectations etc. Estela also talks about age gaps, cultural differences, and coming into a marriage as a parent already while your husband has not yet had the experience of being a parent. We talk about the nature of men and women and focus in on how we can both optimise our best selves and make marriage work. Adding growth, compassion, empathy, self-esteem and self-reflection to the mix, this is a conversation you want to listen to! 🧡🧡🧡🧡🧡 Estela is a Muslimah sex coach and helps women work through past trauma and abuse. My biggest takeaway from this conversation with Estela was the reminder about how often we go into attack mode, and the solution for this accusatory/blaming approach is through "being assertive and reflective and asking for clarity".
