Our Words Build Bridges Or Walls - Audio

If we truly want to build bridges with those we disagree with, then we need to appreciate that the words we choose to describe them and their intentions can either champion that goal or obstruct it. Our ego gets pleasure out of putting other people down because when we do that we feel powerful, superior, holier than thou. This is wall building, not bridge building. This is counter-productive and short-sighted. If we really want to build bridges, we need to take our anger, our judgment, our bitterness, our resentments, our disdain out of the communication equation. With calm confidence and truth that doesn't require emotionally eviscerating our opponents, great bridges are possible, and with that great accomplishments and progress.
