Our Works Without Jesus Don't Please God
John 15: 1-5, 13, 26-27; Romans 8:8; Ephesians 3:20
In this chapter, Jesus explains to the disciples the great benefit of abiding in Him: We will bear much fruit through the help of the Spirit of Truth, our Helper, the Holy Spirit.
Our works don't earn us brownie points in heaven, but they glorify the Father if we have Him in our hearts. Works do not give us salvation, but they testify to who we have believed in.
Today, I encourage you to receive Jesus as your Lord and Savior if you are not friends with Him yet. If you do, you will see how your good works, such as helping in your community, will generate and increase your satisfaction, and thus, your efforts and labor will multiply and expand. For outside of Him, we "can do nothing" that pleases God.
