The convention.

Those magical events where we go to play as many games as possible in a souk of tabletop, card games, discussion panels, and socialization with those of like minds.  Throw in the destination hotels, restaurants, and shopping, and it's a weekend we plan for all year. 

People that run these conventions, however, plan for a lot longer.
