Danielle Kimmey Torrez, one-third of the award-winning Christian pop/dance/r&b group Out Of Eden, checks in to the show today. Out Of Eden (aka “OOE”) was the first artist signed to Gotee Records, co-owned by dcTalk member Toby McKeehan (aka tobyMac). Danielle, along with her sisters Lisa Kimmey (Winans) and Andrea Kimmey (Baca) teamed up to release seven albums from 1994-2006, including “This Is Your Life” in 2002, winning Dove Awards for “Urban Album of the Year” and “Song of the Year” in 2003.
Danielle shares candid thoughts on music, family, racial challenges in our culture, and more, all wrapped up in a strong faith in God. The conversation is part retrospective and includes a couple of cuts from an in-studio interview Danielle, Lisa & Andrea did with WFIL’s sister station 990 AM WNTP (then, WZZD) in February 2004 when in town to promote their new album “Love, Peace & Happiness.” Danielle also gives an update as to what she and her sisters are each doing in 2019. A pleasure to catch up with Danielle (and indirectly, the group) once again!
