In these trying times, we need to be reminded that we are where we are in the world because past leaders have inspired us to work for the benefit of humankind, to sacrifice for noble causes that have made the world as wonderful as it is today.
Here are three speeches that can serve to organize us for the days ahead during the 2020 pandemic:
“The test of our progress is not whether we add more to the abundance of those who have much, it is whether we provide enough for those who have too little.” — FDR
“We choose to go to the moon not because it is easy but because it is hard…. And THAT goal will serve to organize our energies… New hopes for knowledge and peace are out there, and therefore we ask God’s blessing on the most dangerous and greatest adventure on which humankind has ever embarked.” — JFK
