Show Notes:

Thank you so much for hanging out with Peggy and me on the playground today, and Peggy, thank you so much for sharing your inspiring, adventure-filled career with us.

Here are my top 10 take aways from our chat –

  1. Sault Ste. Marie has a large Italian population – and a reputation for excellent Italian food!
  2. Peggy was one of the lucky people who knew from a young age what she wanted in her life – she wanted to work internationally.
  3. She got a job in the federal government and eventually took a job driving a tour bus in Western Canada.
  4. She was able to parlay her degree in sociology-anthropology into a job in the funeral home industry – clearly she has always been an out of the box thinker. 😊
  5. Her whole career trajectory was changed the moment the tsunami hit Sri Lanka in 2004.
  6. The Gambia has always been known as the Gambia.
  7. She was able to regroup, continuing her passion for lifelong learning and got her Master’s degree while teaching in the Philippines
  8. Peggy is someone who truly lives by her values – when her mother was not doing well health-wise, she took time away from her career to spend time with her mom – the best mom in the world.
  9. When she returned to work, even as a Canadian citizen, she found it challenging to look for work in Ottawa.
  10. Her words of wisdom from Maya Angelou - “Forgive yourself for not knowing what you didn't know before you learned it.”

And of course please remember to check out For The Love of Dogs Ottawa to learn more about their organization and how they are changing the lives of so many beautiful dogs in need.

Thanks again Peggy! I am excited about hanging out with my next fabulous mystery guest.

And thank you my friend, for joining us today on the playground. It’s a really special place -and made even more special by you being here.

Until next time, please good to yourself, to others, to animals and the environment. See you soon – when we will jump into the future together!
