Salvation is the issue that I will be deal with now. Many believers in Jesus Christ have fallen away and fallen asleep spiritually speaking. The Church has become satisfied with no authority or a reverence for a Holy God. The Church has allowed sin to invade the House of the Lord and has abused the mercy and grace of God.
Through the mindset of increase, prosperity and submissiveness to the practices, and convictions of the world, we have allowed ourselves to become immune to the convictions of the Holy Spirit. We have ministers who stand in the pulpits who refuse to preach against the sin that is in the church and in the lives of the congregants.
Abominations are allowed and encouraged to be accepted and practiced in the house of the Lord. The truth of God’s Word has been hidden and replaced by a self motivating message that will not shine the spotlight exposing sin and unrighteousness.
Christianity in America has become a broken branch that has fallen away from the tree of Life.
John 15:5-6 I am the vine, ye are the branches: He that abideth in me, and I in him, the same bringeth forth much fruit: for without me ye can do nothing. 6 If a man abide not in me, he is cast forth as a branch, and is withered; and men gather them, and cast them into the fire, and they are burned.
The Church, the Body of Christ is to be abiding in Jesus Christ. The word abiding means to be enduring, remaining, surviving. We are to be taking a permanent position, steadfast with an unshakable faith in Jesus Christ. Many of today’s modern Christians have taken the on the characteristics of the foolish virgins, that Jesus spoke about in Matthew chapter 25, in the parable of the Ten Virgins.
Matthew 25:1-13
1 Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto ten virgins, which took their lamps, and went forth to meet the bridegroom.
2 And five of them were wise, and five were foolish.
3 They that were foolish took their lamps, and took no oil with them:
4 But the wise took oil in their vessels with their lamps.
While the bridegroom tarried, they all slumbered and slept.
6 And at midnight there was a cry made, Behold, the bridegroom cometh; go ye out to meet him.
7 Then all those virgins arose, and trimmed their lamps.
8 And the foolish said unto the wise, Give us of your oil; for our lamps are gone out.
9 But the wise answered, saying, Not so; lest there be not enough for us and you: but go ye rather to them that sell, and buy for yourselves.
10 And while they went to buy, the bridegroom came; and they that were ready went in with him to the marriage: and the door was shut.
11 Afterward came also the other virgins, saying, Lord, Lord, open to us. 12 But he answered and said, Verily I say unto you, I know you not.
13 Watch therefore, for ye know neither the day nor the hour wherein the Son of man cometh.
They all had lamps and, I interpret that as at one point they had accepted the Lord Jesus as their personal Savior and made Him the Lord of their lives. Millions of people, who will claim to be Christians, fill the church houses all across America, Sunday morning, Sunday evening, Wednesday evening and in most cases when the doors are open.
We are supposed to be attending church and fellowshipping with the saints as much as possible. When we come to the house of God and fellowship with other believers we can share testimonies and encourage, each other in the faith. Jesus said that five were wise and five were foolish. There are those who call themselves believers in Jesus Christ but are nothing more than country club members.
When we ask the Lord Jesus to be our savior and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness, I believe that we are given a spiritual light, the light of Christ. This light is like a lamp that the virgins had and they were preparing for an event. Christians have a hope for a life that is eternal. It is a
