“Welcome back Jack...” A man's voice squawked through the intercom, addressing a man suspended. The voice belonged to an owner most likely on the observer’s side of the one-way glass, that dominated the east wall of the room, and the many hoses, wires and tubes that snaked out of the westward wall belonged, at least for now, to the naked man they held suspended in air, a feat made possible by their tightly secured connections to the various silver ports and raised nodules present on the naked mans skin. “It’s been a long time..” the voice from the intercom continued and barked out a forked tongue of feedback mixed with laughter. “Don’t be alarmed Jack, you’re in good hands. Your memories are probably a little hazy right now, but don’t overreact. All you need to know for now is that you suffered a bit of an...accident in Nevada. That’s where *we* came in, myself and my associates. We took...care of you Jack, made sure you were rebuilt. You should find now that you’ve been outfitted with the best cybernetic augments money can buy: as a poster, streamer, podcaster, and serious-writer-guy, you’ll find your abilities now honed to the keenest possible edge, so take heed and don’t cut yourself Jack..” The same squawk-and-laugh from earlier returned, but was cut mercifully short, by the entrance of a new voice, a pleasant one —female, who said, “well now, looks like there’s work to be done...let’s get you out of those,” and with the unmistakable hiss of depressurization, all of the equipment that held the man in the air detached themselves. He fell fast but caught himself in a crouched landing, while several tubes overhead jittered about spraying down ghostly jets of C02. “Readings are good Jack.” The voice said. “ Now let's check your tracking... Using the left analog stick, follow the green light around the room..” A few moments pass. “Good!” She said, “now let’s check your mobility augments. Using the right analog stick, go to the corner marked on your heads-up-display.” The voice waited patiently and then continued.

“Not bad! Next press the X button to interact with that streaming deck on the desk over there, I’ll mark it on your heads-up-display.” The voice remained patient and then said eventually, “You’re doing great Jack! Pressing the X button on highlighted objects will always allow you to interact with them. Well then, let’s engage in a test stream before we send you out in the field eh? Always remember that when streaming you lose HP & MP at a constant rate. You’re still a little exhausted from the surgery, so go easy. I didn’t build you up just so you’d break yourself down again, so lets only put in an hour for now. Press the start button to begin!”
