Mike (Jonathan) bursts with joy every year, working on South Bank at New Year's Eve, but he has a secret resolution - to design the firework display itself! His dear friend Kathy (Ineska) wants the fireworks like they used to be, and when Mike is given the opportunity he shoots for the stars. But a flight of that trajectory is a big risk, and soon Mike finds his life in flames. Will it all explode around him, will Mike fizzle out? Or can he put on the show of a lifetime in time for the countdown!
